Widex Moment app not working? What still works and how to get it back
Quick answer: Your hearing aids still work. Widex’s parent company, WS Audiology (WSA), took some systems offline in late October 2026 after a cybersecurity incident, and the Widex Moment app was the part most affected for wearers. WSA says the hearing aids themselves weren’t affected. Widex says a fixed app version was due for all devices on November 3, 2026, so update the Moment app first, then restart your phone and your hearing aids. Widex lists Android location-based services and Find My Hearing Aids as due November 16, 2026. Until the app works, your everyday program, phone and TV streaming, and your hearing aid’s own buttons keep working.

Get the Widex Moment app working again
- Update the Widex Moment app from the App Store or Google Play. Widex says that if automatic app updates are on, no action is needed; otherwise update by hand. The App Store lists version 1.10.2 with the note “Fixed app access issues for some users.”
- Restart your phone: power it fully off, wait 30 seconds, then turn it back on (Widex’s first troubleshooting step).
- Restart your hearing aids. Rechargeable: put them in the charger for 10 seconds, then take them out; they turn on by themselves. Disposable batteries: open and close the battery doors, and swap in fresh batteries if they’re low.
- Open the app and give it Bluetooth and notification access if it asks. Widex says this is needed for the app to work fully.
- Still not working after the update? Widex’s next step is to delete and reinstall the app, then follow its pairing steps. Widex warns this removes favorite programs you saved in the app, so treat it as a later step, not the first one.
- If the app says your hearing aids aren’t paired to your phone’s Bluetooth, pair them again using our Widex pairing guide.
- Still stuck? Call your hearing care professional or Widex customer support (U.S.: 844-497-8844).
What happened (briefly)
- Oct 26, 2026: WSA, the company behind Widex and Signia, said it found unauthorized access to its customer relationship management environment and certain operational systems, and restricted access to some systems while it contained the problem.
- Oct 30: WSA told HearingTracker and The Hearing Review that the Widex and Signia hearing aids were not affected, but some apps were. Widex Compass Cloud (the fitting software clinics use) was back, the Widex Allure app was working normally, the Moment app was expected back that weekend, and Signia TeleCare (remote adjustments from your clinic) was expected back early the next week.
- Early November: Widex’s app support page says a new Moment app version was being released, with availability for all devices on November 3, 2026, and Android location-based services and Find My Hearing Aids on November 16, 2026. Widex says it will post the latest status on that page.
HearFlow only reports what WSA, Widex and established hearing industry press have published. Check Widex’s app support page for the current status.
What still works without the app
- Hearing. WSA says the hearing aids weren’t affected. HearingTracker reported that some Moment wearers lost access to listening settings stored in the app, even though their hearing aids kept amplifying sound.
- The buttons on your hearing aids. If your model has a push button, it can still change program or volume the way your user guide describes. Your clinic can remind you what a short or long press does on your model.
- iPhone controls. If your Widex hearing aids are paired as Made for iPhone hearing devices, Apple’s built-in controls don’t need the Widex app. Go to Settings › Accessibility › Hearing Devices, or add the Hearing button to Control Center. Apple says you can check battery status, adjust ambient microphone volume and equalization, choose which side gets streaming audio, and choose whether calls and media go to your hearing aids. HearingTracker reported that some iPhone users kept access to certain programs this way.
- Phone calls, music and TV streaming. These use your phone’s Bluetooth connection, not the app. If they also stopped, follow our disconnect fixes.
- TONELINK (some models). Widex’s TONELINK app controls program, volume, mute and directional focus with coded sounds from your phone’s speaker instead of Bluetooth. Widex lists it for EVOKE and MOMENT hearing aids, but its Moment app page says the Bluetooth Moment models use the Moment app. Ask your clinic whether TONELINK works with your exact model before relying on it.
Android phones (including Pixel)
- Widex says Android location-based services and Find My Hearing Aids were expected back on November 16, 2026, later than the rest of the app. If those are the only parts missing, the app may otherwise be working as expected.
- Make sure the app has Bluetooth and notification permissions; Widex says to allow them when asked. On Android, the Bluetooth permission may be shown as “Nearby devices.”
- Widex also says the app may not be listed in the store if your phone or Android version isn’t compatible. Check Widex’s compatibility page.
- If the app had trouble on your phone well before late October, the outage may not be the cause. Run the steps above, then ask your clinic or Widex support.
What about Signia?
Signia is also a WSA brand. WSA said Signia hearing aids can be fitted and fine-tuned as usual, and that Signia TeleCare, which lets your clinic adjust your hearing aids remotely, was expected to return early in the week of November 2. If a remote appointment can’t connect, ask your clinic whether to reschedule or come in. Our Signia pairing guide covers everyday connection problems.
When to call your clinic
- You’ve updated and restarted and the app still won’t connect.
- You need a listening program you can only reach in the app (for example, a program set up for work or a classroom). Your hearing care professional may be able to adjust the hearing aids directly.
- A hearing aid isn’t making sound at all. That’s not an app problem; see one hearing aid not working.
Common questions
Are my Widex hearing aids broken because the Moment app stopped working?
No. WS Audiology says the Widex and Signia hearing aids themselves were not affected by its October 2026 cybersecurity incident. Only some apps and online services were taken offline.
How do I fix the Widex Moment app not working?
Update the Moment app from the App Store or Google Play, restart your phone, then restart your hearing aids. Widex said a fixed version would be available for all devices on November 3, 2026. If it still won't work, Widex's next step is to reinstall the app, which removes favorite programs saved in it.
Should I unpair or reset my hearing aids while the app is down?
Start with the update and restarts instead. Widex's troubleshooting puts restarting first and reinstalling the app later, and warns that reinstalling removes favorite programs saved in the app. Re-pair only if the app says your hearing aids aren't paired to your phone's Bluetooth.
Why doesn't Find My Hearing Aids work on my Android phone?
Widex lists Android location-based services and Find My Hearing Aids as expected back on November 16, 2026, later than the rest of the app.
Can I still change programs and volume without the app?
Yes, in most cases. Use the push button on your hearing aids if your model has one. On iPhone, Settings > Accessibility > Hearing Devices and the Control Center Hearing button work without the Widex app.
Was my personal data exposed?
HearFlow can't say. WSA said the incident involved its customer relationship management environment and certain operational systems and that its investigation was ongoing. Watch for direct communication from WSA or Widex, and ask your clinic if you're concerned.
Is the Signia app affected too?
WSA said Signia hearing aids can be fitted and adjusted as usual, and that Signia TeleCare remote adjustments were expected back early in the week of November 2, 2026.
